The DAC position was created along with the Ontario Early Years Centres in 2001 following the release of the Early Years Study (Mustard & McCain). The role of the DAC is to support evaluation and planning efforts for all agencies that serve young children and their families. The position is constantly evolving with new initiatives, new research and the advancement of technology. Early Years Stakeholders coordinating with the DAC:
Each year the DAC consults with early years stakeholders and local agencies serving our early years families in order to determine work plan priorities.

  • Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCSYS)-provincial/ regional offices
  • Ministry of Education (MEDU)-provincial/ regional offices
  • Timiskaming Best Start Network

Early Years Partners for Data Sharing and Research:

  •  Ontario Early Years Centres/Family resource programs
  •  Best Start Timiskaming programs and services
  •  All 4 school boards in the district
  •  Offord Centre for Child Studies.
  •  Timiskaming Health Unit
